BANIG- What are they?

BANIG
A banig is a handwoven mat usually use in East Asia and the Philippines for sleeping and sitting.
This type mat is traditionally made in the philippines for probably the spanish times. Technically, it is not a textile. depending on the region of the philippines, the mat is made of buri (palm), pandanus or sea leaves. The leaves are dried, usually dyed, then cut into strips and woven into mats, which may be plain or intricate.
I myself have experience it, when i was a kid i used to sleep in it, stay in it, sit in it, because my lola and lolo wanted me to try so i tried it. Banig is really common in the province area or in the mountain areas,

We have it, Where can we buy it,
well you can actual buy them on the market or usually in the province area, but i think there many in philippines. But theres is also banig in other countries like indonesia, thailand, etc...
